CHALLENGE
CBC/Radio-Canada is one of Canada’s largest and most storied institutions. To celebrate their 75th anniversary, the vision was to create an immersive, interactive multi-screen solution for the Montreal HQ to reflect the broadcaster’s values, creativity and cultural heritage. A Past- Present-Future digital signage concept, ensuring key moments in CBC’s history were readily accessible to employees and visitors.

SOLUTION
Radio-Canada required a series of complex templates, scripts, web browser integration, and a custom interactive audio player that were fully engineered by experienced Telecine Multimedia staff using Scala tools. Telecine provided extensive consulting services to steer the client towards the most impactful, efficient, cost effective, and updateable content templates. Radio-Canada also appreciated that Scala’s content management interface is fully bilingual French/English allowing system users to easily operate in the language of their choice.

BENEFITS
State of the art technology showcases a truly Canadian media journey using traditional CBC media channels (TV, Radio, Internet) and evolving social media outlets (FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube). The new concourse now delights visitors by actively engaging sight, sound, and touch. This installation reminds Canadians that CBC/Radio-Canada was, is, and will remain at the centre of the diverse democratic, social and cultural life of Canada.
