CHALLENGE
The student association at Mohawk College was looking for an innovative way to improve student communications. They wanted an easy-to-use, robust software platform that could update students on news and services, engage via social media, and also provide instant emergency alerts should the need arise.

SOLUTION

Dot2Dot partner, Gorrie Marketing Services, delivered the turn-key solution that included Scala Content Manager, Designer, Samsung LCD displays, network installation, content design consultation, and operational training on Scala for managing the network and updating content. The project included 12 independent channels of content and 26 LCD displays, ranging in size from 32” to 60”. The digital network engages students at essential on-campus services such as the coffee shop, two quick service restaurants and a variety store.

BENEFITS
Mohawk College now has a campus wide interactive, dynamic messaging. Content is relevant, changes can be made at a moment’s notice or scheduled in advance, and unique messages can be targeted to specific audiences. “The combination of GMS and Scala software has helped us create a digital signage network to communicate and wow students,” said Steve Kosh, Marketing and Communications Manager of the Mohawk Student’s Association. “Our new system makes the messages stand out and be fun so they stick with busy students, covering campus activities, social events…community news, and administrative facts.”
