CHALLENGE
Subaru Canada’s main priorities were to achieve a consistent brand message without competing advertising, to improve brand awareness in a professional manner, to communicate directly with their captive audience, and finally, to give their customers an enriched experience with personalized content. Subaru Canada was also looking for digital signage that could be used in multiple languages, support multiple form factors, and be highly customizable.

SOLUTION
After 2 years of research on SaaS solutions, Subaru Canada choose Scala software with its robust scripting language and freedom to create extensions to functionality. For less money spent printing single use POP materials, Scala allowed Subaru to produce 1080p HD content that could be multi-purposed for their digital signage network, their YouTube channel, as well as their official website. Subaru Canada now has a nationwide rollout of 42” and 52” screens in 80+ dealerships across the country. The network runs two unique channels of content one for sales and one for services to keep customers engaged and informed while reducing perceived wait times.

Benefits
The dealerships are now able to display the status of serviced vehicles in real-time, pull up previously owned vehicle inventory from the Subaru website, as well as display relevant, customizable content. “Digital signage is here to stay and for me, the proof came when dealers who had originally been reluctant to participate came back requesting access to our Suburu Tv network or additional screens.” George Hamin, Director of e-Business & Information Systems, Subaru Canada.
